Pathology Associates offers Molecular Pathology testing; including Chlamydia,
Gonorrhea, and Human Papilloma Virus. Chlamydia and Gonorrhea testing utilizes
nucleic acid amplification, which gives the best sensitivity and specificity
available. We may utilize the ThinPrep® vials that are used for Pap
smears, M4, Uriprobe, or GenProbe swabs may be used for collection from
genital areas or random urine may be used. See Services
on how to order these swabs or for any questions. Human Papilloma Virus uses the nucleic acid hybridization with signal amplification. This detects 18 types of Human Papilloma Virus in cervical samples, separately designating both high and low risk types. This technology can utilize either Cytyc's ThinPrep® sample for Pap smears or a sample may be collected using cervical sampler swab. See Services on how to order these swabs or for any questions. These technologies place Arkansas Pathology Associates on the cutting edge of molecular pathology testing for these diseases. |
